Purchased in 2007, Gelston Castle Estate is a 330-acre development nestled atop the Mohawk Valley. The historic property was a retreat for three US Presidents (James Monroe, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt) and more recently "The greatest Cellist" Mstislav "Maestro" Rostropovich. The Master Plan, designed by Mungeam Cornish Golf Design, incorporates a sustainable landscape that cradles a carbon-neutral living community within the natural environment of clean energy resources and recreational open space. Currently in Phase 2 of the development, the Estate operates on wind power purchased from the grid and has reduced its energy usage by 90% overall. Existing operations include educational seminars, historical tours, music performance, public concerts, festivals, re-enactments and Green Jobs Training.
Located near San Antonio, Texas, Spire's Crossing is a 500-acre parcel that is Safflyn Corporation's 2nd carbon-neutral development. Planned with rain-catchments, blackwater management and a challenging recreational open space, Spire's Crossing will be an ideal low-impact resort and gathering place for carbon-neutral conferences and expos.
A Joint-Venture between Minority Executive Search and Safflyn Corporation, the Green Jobs Program will provide skills development and placement for displaced workers and newly trained recruits. Offered through the Green Leadership Institute, the Green Jobs Program answers the charge by President Obama to help deliver 5 million Green Jobs by his administration.
Developed by Safflyn Corporation in 2001 as the quality living program, this initiative has been re-launched under its current name to help the commercial and residential sectors alike in reducing their carbon emissions through creative programs and identification of optimal Green products and materials.
The carbon sequestration initiative is focused on capturing carbon emissions through new design and modelling of existing operational data.
