Sylvin Douglas Lyn

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Mr. Lyn immigrated to the U.S. in 1965. After completing his degree at New York City Polytechnic, he joined Pfizer Corporation and made his career at Pfizer. During his 33 year career he grew to become a Senior Project Leader of Production on the Viagra Project and was awarded 1000 Safe Days at Pfizer twice. Upon his retirement in 2001 he received Executive Recognition as a Model Pfizer Employee. He brings to Safflyn a healthy enthusiasm for doing things the right way and has 45 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.

In addition to his work at Pfizer, Mr. Lyn enjoyed an illustrious career as a soccer coach for the Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) for which served more than 30 years and produced more than 50 collegiate players and 10 National Team players. He is still an active player and currently practices with the Merrick United Soccer Club in Long Island.

In his spare time, Mr. Lyn takes and active interest in philanthropic work and helping disadvantage people. He has been an active supporter of the Gift of Life, Prostate Cancer Awareness, and several school charities in his native Jamaica and other important causes.

In 2007, with the purchase of Gelston Castle Estate in Herkimer, NY, Mr. Lyn has most recently become a staunch advocate for the fight against obesity. He is actively promoting outdoor activity and has a desire to work with the American Heart Association to help kids learn good lifestyle habits.

Mr. Lyn has three sons and 4 grandchildren and is still trying to figure out what he wants to be when he grows up.....
